Regarding Ball State’s Non-Renewal Final Decision
May 15, 2013
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As your partner in education, we are writing with important information about a decision that affects the future of Imagine Broadway. Please carefully read this letter so you will have accurate information regarding your child’s continuing education.
Our governing Board has received notification from Ball State University affirming their decision not to renew the charter for our campus. This decision came despite our clear presentation to the Charter Schools Hearing Panel of the strong academic growth made by our students this past year and the widespread support of you, our families, for our school to remain open.
We are disappointed by Ball State’s decision; however, our commitment to providing the best educational options for our families and students remains as strong as ever. Despite this announcement, it is our intention to keep our school open. We are exploring options that would maintain the educational choice you deserve and have come to expect. We look forward to sharing more about this in the coming days.
We will continue to keep you informed of the choices and options available to you and your child as you prepare for the upcoming school year. Through this process, please be assured of our commitment to continue serving you and your child at Imagine Broadway.
Cordially,
Ra'Chelle Spearman
Principal

What do parents have to say about Imagine?
We believe that, given a choice, parents will seek out the best school for their children. On a daily basis, they see the academic, character, behavioral, and social growth of their children. Thus, parents are the most reliable measure of accountability and quality.
The single biggest difference between a government-operated public school and a public charter school is that parents choose whether or not to send their child to a charter school. Parents vote with their feet!
In our Spring 2010 survey, families nationwide reported 85% would recommend their Imagine school to others. How does this figure compare to you local school district?
Another measure of parent satisfaction is re-enrollment. Our schools are about 90% full, and some have significant waiting lists.
